Most of the teams I work with run production systems on AWS or Azure, usually built around Kubernetes and modern DevOps tooling. These are environments where uptime, deployment speed and cloud cost matter every day, and where hiring the wrong engineer can slow a team down for months.
I focus on engineers who have real ownership of the platforms they work on. People who have dealt with incidents, outages, scaling problems and the responsibility of keeping production systems running.
On paper many engineers look similar. In reality there is a big difference between someone who has used the tools and someone who has owned the platform.
I have spent more than 15 years in technology and engineering recruitment and now specialise in platform and cloud engineering. My experience spans the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, EMEA and APAC, including time living and working in Kuala Lumpur, and I support clients globally when they need to build strong infrastructure and platform teams.
I am AWS certified and have also worked around cloud cost and FinOps environments, which helps me understand how these platforms are structured and where engineering teams typically run into problems.
Most of the leaders I work with are not looking for more CVs. They want a small number of engineers they would actually hire.
